1550 Lease of Manor of Chudleigh, palace, lime kiln, town and park. (Sir Thomas Bridges, born 1546, was Steward of Royal Manors of Oxon. Edward VI granted him many abbey lands). Also advowson.
1597 (May) Thomas Bridges (grandson of former named) sells to Hugh Clifford and the Governing body of the Parish the Market Houses, weekly fairs, bi-annual fairs, and all profits and revenues for the support of the poor of the Parish together with a plot of land in Oldway between Chudleigh town and Broomes Land Gate on the South part and also the Play Park.
1598 Thomas Bridges sells Higher Dunscombe to James Arthur, Lower Duscombe to Sir George Southcott, Burrows Manor to Stephen Stampford, Bittlecombe and Bolford, The Racke Park, Sherwill and pt Waddon to J Ball, Brownes Lands, Tingemarsh (Teign Marsh), Oxencombe, Bathe Place and Parke ground to Thomas Trente, Fishing in the Teign and Chudleigh Woods to Bennett Ball, Lord's Kiln, Parke, Toore Waste and Calcis to T Wichalles.
1598 (Nov) Thomas Bridges sells remainder of the Manor and advowson to Thomas Hunt, Gent
